Myself and Smooshky were driving to work a few days ago and we passed a poster for an event in Belfast’s Odyssey Arena that kinda caught my eye. The poster gave me the willies instantly as it featured two very scary looking faces, contorted into that kind of rictus grin possessed by those evil clowns that scared the bejaysus out of you when you were a kid. I didn’t get enough time to work out what the posters were all about, and Smooshky didn’t see them at all.

I was trying to work out from the design on the posters whether it was some kind of American self-help nonsense, or some kind of crazy Christian evangelist nonsense. I found their site and from the books that they sell it looks like they do a little of both; Self-Help Evangelism. Oh Boy!

Anyway, I’ve been seeing the posters as I drive into and out of town all week (“Marion, they want to eat my brains!” I cry as we approach them) and I got an idea that tickled me every time I thought of it. How funny would it be to picket the event in a kind of Father Ted stylee. Just generally shuffling around outside the venue with a placard declaring “Down with this sort of thing”

Ah well, maybe some other time.
